The Heart of Art in Gulfport

Nestled in the beautifully restored historic Carnegie Library building at 1300 24th Avenue in downtown Gulfport, the Gulfport Arts Center is a vibrant nonprofit hub that champions the creative vitality of coastal Mississippi. Its large gallery showcases the work of around 40 local artists, featuring a diverse collection of original paintings, pottery, textile art, stained glass, sculpture, jewelry, woodwork, and books—all elegantly arranged for ease of browsing. More than just a gallery, the Center serves as a welcoming public art studio offering weekly art classes, workshops, and a writer’s group for all ages and skill levels, fostering community engagement and artistic growth.

“This was a great place to see and buy works from local artists. The staff are very friendly, and the atmosphere is nice. It looks like the classes offered are fairly diverse, too.”

“Great spot to highlight local artists! There are signs on the doors downstairs to call if you need assistance getting in, but I am not sure how they would get upstairs to see the gallery. Everyone was nice and friendly and all of the artwork was beautiful.”
