Some of my earliest and fondest childhood memories revolve around artwork! Sitting on the floor at home with a large pad of newsprint and a great big carton of brilliant crayons was an invitation to creativity. Coloring books were not allowed!
By age ten, I was a regular in my mother’s art classes. She trained at Newcomb Art School and taught lessons to youngsters in the art studio behind our family home in Laurel, MS. So many memories! So much inspiration! My interest in art and my enjoyment of the challenges and satisfaction of drawing and painting have influenced my entire life. I expanded this interest by studying art at the University of Mississippi and University of Oregon along with Jefferson David Junior College here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Throughout my life I have regularly attended workshops.
My preferred medium is acrylic. My preferred inspiration is my husband’s photography. Nature sends my soul and I hope it is apparent in my paintings.
