“Art is meant to evoke emotion” and many artists focus on the emotion they purpose themselves to create. Rhonda Rigby has a keen sense of humor and chooses to paint through that filter. From the flies on her seafood to the “punny titles” of her paintings, her work evokes smiles and memories. Bygone brands, technologies, and traditions cause those who lived through them to chuckle and the young to smile at their lack of sophistication.
Whether you believe it is God or the devil in the detail, Rhonda loves that aspect of painting and enjoys the challenge. A self-taught artist, she believes she is still learning. She “practices” on most days and finds painting to be her “happy place”.
